Lisa Streich DAUMENKINO

DAUMENKINO is a series of designs by various prizewinners of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. I was looking for personal fingerprints to trace the individual personality and style of the award winners.

Whoever watches the DAUMENKINO can take a brief look, a staccato look at the work and thought worlds of the prizewinners. It offers an insight not normally available in the regular concert setting. I have been deeply moved by these very personal treasures and rarely have I felt as close to my fellow musicians as I did when compiling these sketches.

Composing a piece of music and performing it are sometimes compared to jumping into cold water. As if it were only a matter of avoiding a wrong step, as if life in a limited period of time depended on finding the perfect jump, striking the right note.

But in the end – let’s be honest – we dive into a well-tempered pool.
