Cia Rinne

studied philosophy in Frankfurt, Athens, and Helsinki (MA), lives near Berlin. Influenced by Dada and Fluxus, her minimalist poetry explores language materiality and semiotic shifts, seamlessly transitioning into performances, exhibitions, sound installations and video works, as well as libretti and texts for the stage. Notable publications include zaroum, notes for soloists, l’usage du mot, and sentences. Cia Rinne’s oeuvre was awarded the Prix littéraire Bernard Heidsieck-Centre Pompidou 2019.

movements (series)
this movement is waiting for its moment  this movement should begin any moment ¶ this movement should have been an introduction ¶ this movement would prefer to be spoken ¶ this movement will not let you breathe before it is finished ¶ this movement would like to extend endlessly in time ¶ this movement could be a bad idea ¶ this movement wishes it could start all over again ¶ this movement promises more than it can keep ¶ this movement should behave as though nothing happened ¶ this movement would prefer to be in a different score ¶ this movement loves the opera ¶ this movement emphasizes every single note ¶ this movement  feeds on the dissolution it spreads ¶ this movement would like to be supplied with a footnote ¶ this movement is unnecessarily complicating things ¶ ideally, this movement should remain silent ¶ this movement feels limited by its own structure ¶ individual attempts of this movement in the context are futile ¶
this movement is determined to impress a certain composer ¶ this movement cannot stand alone ¶ this movement has a coarse voice ¶ this movement has been moved elsewhere ¶ this movement is just following the method provided ¶ this movement appears to contradict the previous one ¶ this movement could be replaced with another one without anyone noticing ¶ this movement would prefer to stay off the record ¶ thinks it is too modern for this composition ¶ this movement pretends to emancipate atonality ¶ this movement refuses to be a footnote to past music ¶ this movement wonders whether it could exist outside this composition ¶ this movement wonders whether it will exist when the music ends ¶ this movement is worried it will never end ¶ this movement wants to end on a positive note ¶ this movement cannot be the last one ¶ ideally, this movement should leave no trace
