An event of musica viva of the Bayerischer Rundfunk
The precise [Kiril Petrenko] now demonstrates with this absolute precision and high-performance ensemble [Berliner Philharmoniker] what already appealed to him about symphonic music during his time in Munich: the highly energetic exploration of disastrous world views in sound. This is made easier for him by a grandiose, extraordinary program of masterpieces of modern music, which the ensemble has already performed three times in Berlin and is now repeating in Munich to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, one of the major sponsors of modern classical music. [...]. Great jubilation.
Süddeutsche Zeitung, September 18, 2023, Reinhard J. Brembeck
It was a memorable concert and an important act of music education.
Abendzeitung München, September 19, 2023, Robert Braunmüller
Since the first räsonanz Stifterkonzert in 2016, the foundation has always managed to invite high-ranking orchestras that are otherwise rarely heard in Munich. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation did not let itself be outdone. The Berlin Philharmonic under Kirill Petrenko, recently voted the world's best orchestra once again, was allowed to play in the sold-out Isarphilharmonie for the first time. This was to be expected, but in view of the immensely demanding program, it was also a challenge for the audience.
Kirill Petrenko creates an almost sublime silence at the end. Afterwards, a never-ending ovation; even the orchestra and conductor congratulate each other warmly. Who's surprised after this exhausting program four days in a row? The people of Munich will certainly remember this delightful concert evening for a long time to come.
